Resolve Delivery Crisis from Supplier to Client

Project Challenge

  1. Maintain deliveries of injected panels (Tier 2) to the manufacturer’s line (Tier 1) to avoid stopping the OEM’s assembly line.
  2. Supplier Tier 2 in Curitiba and Supplier Tier 1 in GravataĆ­.

Strategy Applied

  1. Created a buffer of parts sufficient to support at least a 1-shift stoppage of the injector.
  2. Piece-by-piece production monitoring and selection.
  3. Implemented special logistics for part shipment.
  4. Created a Multidisciplinary War Group to identify the fault beside the injector using the 5 Whys and reaching the root cause of the problem/fault in the part.

Implemented Results

  1. Fault identified in the injector.
  2. Identified TPM failure in the injector, added point in maintenance inspections and extended to other injectors. > Supplier’s learning to react in emergency situations with more efficiency and assertiveness.
  3. Opened a partnership between client and supplier that did not exist before.
